Let’s Keep It Real Jealousy doesn’t mean you love someone more, and it definitely doesn’t give you permission to control them. Love isn’t about fear-it’s about creating a relationship where you both feel safe and free to be yourselves. If you’re struggling with this, you’re not alone. Jealousy and boundaries are some of the biggest challenges couples face, but with a little reflection and communication, they’re absolutely manageable. You deserve a relationship where you feel secure, and so does your partner. Let’s focus on building that together-one honest conversation at a time.
One isn’t necessarily born with courage, but one is born with potential. Without courage, we cannot practice any other virtue with consistency. We can’t be kind, true, merciful, generous or honest.
– Maya Angelou
Turning Jealousy Into Connection
Jealousy isn’t the bad guy. It’s just a nudge to reflect on what’s going on. Maybe it’s pointing to an insecurity you didn’t realize was there. Maybe it’s showing that you and your partner need to communicate more. Either way, jealousy can actually strengthen your connection-if you approach it with curiosity instead of control. Ask yourself: . Is this about something my partner is doing, or something I’m feeling inside? . What do I need to feel secure, and how can 1 share that in a calm, honest way? When you use jealousy as a starting point for deeper conversations, it can lead to more trust and closeness than you had before.
Let’s be honest: we’ve all been there. That nagging feeling when your partner mentions someone else or spends a little too much time scrolling on their phone. Jealousy sneaks in, and suddenly, you’re questioning everything. If you’ve ever heard, “Jealousy just means you care,” you might’ve felt validated. But let’s get real-jealousy is more complicated than that. As a relationship coach, I see it for what it is: a signal, not a definition of love.
When Jealousy Gets Out of Hand
We’ve all felt that urge to snoop through a partner’s phone or overthink who they’re texting but acting on those feelings can cause more harm than good, Jealousy crosses the line when it turns into control: restricting who your partner can see, monitoring their every move, or creating rules that come from fear instead of trust It’s not a great feeling, for either of you.
Setting Boundaries That Work Here’s what I tell my clients: jealousy is manageable when you have healthy boundaries. Boundaries aren’t about keeping your partner on a leash they’re about creating space for trust and respect to thrive.
LOVE SHOULDN’T BE ABOUT JEALOUSY OR ANYTHING LIKE THAT. IT SHOULD BE ABOUT COMMITMENT AND BEING ABLE TO TRUST THAT PERSON. IF YOU CAN’T HAVE THAT FROM THE GET-GO, THERE’S A PROBLEM
CARTER
They said that being jealous is an act of how much you love the person, I said that if you love and you care for that person you should also learn how to trust.”
You can’t get there by bus, only by hard work and risk and by not quite knowing what you’re doing. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover will be yourself. Alan Alda
Productivity is never an accident. It is always the result of a commitment to excellence, intelligent planning, and focused effort.
